Occupational Safety and Health Management System |
The Company is concerned about the safety and health of the employees at the workplace. In addition to following relevant laws and regulations, the Company establishes the occupational safety and health management system to implement preventive management and workplace disasters through risk assessment and continuous improvement to safeguard the health and safety of colleagues. All the plants of the Company in Taiwan have passed the certification of occupational safety and health management system (ISO 45001:2018). The Hsinchu Plant (Li-Hsin Plant/Prosperity Plant) and Hukou Plant (Kuang-Fu Plant) have acquired the third-party certificate of Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Management System (CNS 45001:2018). The management system is applicable to all the employees within the plants. The employees of the contracted suppliers working in any of the plants are subject to the contract separately. The scope of safety and health personnel audit includes all employees and all contracting personnel.
In addition, the Company improves the safety at the plants and the awareness of the risk management among the employees by implementing internal and external activities as well as regular educational training and dissemination with respect to prevention of occupation accidents, health management, and promotion of health to protect the assets of the Company.
The Company has a Safe and Health Officer in charge of the environment, safety and health management matters. For effective implementation of the occupational safety and health policies and environmental protection matters, the Company establishes the “Environment, Safety, and Health Management Committee” (or ESH Management Committee in short) as per the Occupational Safety and Health Act and administrative measures for occupational safety and health. The Committee holds a meeting every quarter and the President acts as the management representative and preside over the meeting personally. The Committee performs the P (Plan), D (Do), C (Check), A (Action) cycle to systematically establish and plan different operation control actions and create a safe and healthy working environment.
A total of four meetings were held in 2023. At the meeting, members represented all employees and management on occupational safety and health management plans, safety and health education and training, operating environment monitoring, health management, automatic inspections and safety and health audits, hazard prevention, and contract management. Discuss the issues and make continuous improvements to the problems discovered.
